Natural Antidepressants: Actions & Food of the Good Mood Natural Antidepressants: Actions and Food of the Good Mood
Do you feel depressed? Wait before taking the pills – they can be effective in a short run, but then they can worsen your condition. We advise that you start with natural antidepressants first.
Natural Antidepressants: Inside
There should be eating schedule in fighting depression. Try to choose those products that won’t create heaviness in the stomach, especially in the evenings. It would be a great idea to have fasting days with water and lemon. But feel free to think of your own fasting method – with cucumbers, or buckwheat, or something else.
Create and follow your personal diet. When the first signs of depression appear, try to enrich your diet with greenery – coriander, lettuce, and basil. Other great “fighters” of depression are cheese, fish, mollusks, turkey meat, cultured milk foods, cabbage, apricots, rosehip, and kiwi – they all serve as good mood stabilizers.
Figs, bananas, and pears do not yield to sweets and cakes since they also deliver “happiness hormone” to your organism. And the huge bonus is that these products won’t have a negative effect on your complexion, teeth, and weight. Besides, trying to “eat the depression” with sweets will no doubt result into overweight, which will only aggravate your depression.Another antidepressant in considered to be… pasta! Specialists claim that it is perfect in dealing with nervousness and irritation. It is also advised to eat when you are getting tired very quickly. But, we should indicate, that the positive effect will be achieved only after eating pasta, which is made from solid durum wheat grains.
Another thing among natural antidepressants is considered to be… pasta! Specialists claim that it is perfect in dealing with nervousness and irritation. It is also advised to eat when you are getting tired very quickly. But, we should indicate, that the positive effect will be achieved only after eating pasta, which is made from solid durum wheat grains.
Also, don’t hope for a quick recovery if you’re going to eat pasta together with sausages and other proteins. It’s better to make it with spicy sauce, which includes lemon juice, red pepper, and olive oil. Pasta is also good for depression together with salty kinds of cheese – they are full of carbohydrate and calcium is super useful for the brain.
If you don’t have enough sleep or even suffer from insomnia – you can only dream about good mood. St. John’s wort, haw, chamomile, hops, and valerian are great ingredients to make teas and decoctions. Specialists often mention aromatic rose water/oil. Rose can be substituted by jasmine and basilica, bergamot, orange or ylang-ylang. With these oils, you can make yourself a truly relaxing bath.
So, as you can see, the list of means without side-effects is pretty long. All you have to do is to choose what will work best just for you.
Natural Antidepressants: Outside
Don’t forget that the best natural antidepressants are not only products themselves and their teas and decoctions. The scientists have proved that sex is very important in elevating your mood and “fighting spirit”. But the effect will be truly positive only when sex will bring you an utter joy. So if you and your partner live through a tense period of your relationship when sex may turn into “just being patient with each other” rather than having fun – it will hardly be effective in dealing with depression. Though it would make a great difference if you both would want to try and patch up a quarrel – then you will see the healing quality of sex.
Another great remedy is dancing or outdoor games. At the worst, include long walks into your daily routine – at least for an hour and a half. Choose new directions to go and try not to plan anything at all for the time of your walks. Even if you are super busy, find the time to connect to your soul and find the balance. Physical exercises for at least half an hour contribute to the producing happiness hormone – endorphin. So do some free-standing exercises, go to swim, to jog, to walk or, even better, practice some yoga to stabilize your mood.
You next great friend in fighting depression are pets. They always feel when we feel bad – and they offer their touching care. If you don’t have a pet – visit your friend with one or some plays where there are animals. And you don’t have to ride a horse or swim with dolphins – it will be good to simply observe.
Sometimes to conquer depression and low mood it is enough to allow yourself to do what you love – to paint something, to go shopping, to do modeling or braiding – just keep your hands and thoughts busy.
Medical experts say that depressive condition is the result of oxygen debt, vitamin and mineral deficiency or metabolism malfunction. So before deciding on the medication, think – maybe you need to pay attention to the general condition of your organism. The reason for depression can be hidden in the deficiency of needed substances or, on the contrary, the excess of toxins.
Unfortunately, everything described above can only help if you suffer from mild, seasonal depression. If you experience a severe case of depression, you will have to undergo the consultation with your doctor and psychiatrist or psychotherapist.
Also, despite these antidepressants are natural, pregnant and breastfeeding women should be very careful when creating a diet.
Be mindful of your health, take a good care!
